Romney clubs Perry with new Texas job numbers

New state unemployment numbers were released today for the month of September, prompting Mitt Romney to attack Rick Perry’s job record in Texas, where the unemployment rate is at 8.5 percent, unchanged from August.

“Today’s newest jobs numbers in Texas show yet again that Rick Perry’s ‘Texas Miracle’ is actually nothing more than a mirage.” announced Romney spokesman Ryan Williams.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics report shows that Texas added 15,400 jobs last month, the second highest state after Florida. In the past year, Texas has added 248,500 jobs.
