Elizabeth Warren bombs Democratic debate's first question

Once again on Wednesday, Elizabeth Warren showed why Democrats are reluctant to provide her an early coronation as their presidential nominee.

Receiving the honor of the debate’s first question, Warren was asked whether and how she would persuade Republican senators to support impeachment. It was a good question from co-moderator Rachel Maddow because it speaks to the reality of math beyond the noise of the impeachment proceedings. If Democrats want to convict Trump, they need two-thirds of the Senate to support that vote. And to persuade those Republicans, Democrats need to engage with them and address their specific concerns.
