It’s fascinating to see how spiteful liberals can be, even when they win.
Since the election, Democrats and journalists have spent the days not so much rejoicing in their victory but in a sustained bitterness over all things related to President Trump, from his Republican allies in Congress, to, literally, his children.
“We don’t choose how we’re born,” New York Times liberal Frank Bruni wrote Monday. “But from then on, we do make choices, and we’re accountable for those. Jared and Ivanka are about to be held accountable.”
Once upon a time, the way we held people to account in politics was by having elections. That’s no longer how liberals think things should work. They think the people they disagree with should not only lose at the ballot box but should also be shunned by society.
Conservatives generally accept electoral defeat and wait for the next time when, hopefully, the results will be in their favor. Liberals handle loss by chasing people out of restaurants and harassing random pedestrians in the streets.
When they win, it’s not over — and how silly of you to think otherwise.
CNN’s Jake Tapper, who at one point was a measured journalist, suggested last week that “future employers” should hesitate when receiving overtures from anyone who worked for the White House or the Trump campaign.
Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York said on Twitter that those in her party should be sure that they’re “archiving” Trump associates for their “complicity” in his presidency.
President-elect Joe Biden keeps talking about “healing” while the vindictive people in his party scheme out how to continue belittling and degrading their political opponents.
It’s kind of sad how miserable they are. They won the White House. You would think they would be happy about it.
