In a way, I suppose conspiracies have always been around, but living in the age of social media, they’ve been amplified tremendously. However, no matter the era, they do nothing to benefit society and much to harm it. The most recent example is the ridiculous assertion that Taylor Swift is a government psyop. This claim, and the people peddling such nonsense, are indicative of everything wrong today with American society.
