Gingrich fundraises on ‘knock Obama out’ comment

Newt Gingrich made headlines when he expressed a desire to “knock [Obama] out” politically, and now his campaign has built a fundraising pitch around the comment.

Here’s the Gingrich sell:

Speaker Gingrich was recently asked at a townhall event how he would “bloody Obama’s nose,” and his response proved once again why he would be the best Republican nominee for president: “I don’t want to bloody his nose, I want to knock him out!”
This is exactly why Newt Gingrich is the candidate who must face Obama! He is the only candidate with the right combination of experience, leadership, and bold solutions to draw stark contrasts with Barack Obama, and he is far and away the best candidate to debate Obama and do more than just bloody his nose. Newt Gingrich can – and will – knock him out!

The Gingrich campaign also noted that Sarah Palin said recently that she would vote for Gingrich if she were a South Carolina voter (in order to extend the primary season).

“If we’re going to knock out Obama in November,” the fundraising message concluded, “we need a Reagan conservative with bold solutions and strong leadership.”
