U.S. Secret Service has closed down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C. while investigating an object that seems to have been thrown on the the White House grounds this evening, following President and Mrs. Obama celebrating her birthday at a local restaurant.

Upon returning to the WH, members of the press corps are being prevented from leaving the grounds. USSS investigating an object that was allegedly thrown over the fence. Penn Ave is closed as well.
The Obamas had dinner with friends at BLT Steak.
