Tim Ballard’s hidden war against child sex traffickers

Former Department of Homeland Security special agent and undercover operator Tim Ballard continues to protect children by taking down an international ring of child sex traffickers and pedophiles in his second film, which premieres on Nov. 14.

In Hidden War — Ballard’s sequel to The Sound Of Freedom — Ballard showcases his takedown of an international ring of pedophiles who seized the opportunity of a war-torn country with lax legal oversight to execute their “harvest.”

THE SOUND OF FREEDOM AND THE SMELL OF SUCCESS

“Whenever there is any catastrophe of any kind, it is what the traffickers call ‘harvest time,’” Ballard told the Washington Examiner in an exclusive interview. “So that is why we went there.”

“We then found a group of pedophiles, born out of Holland, who are trying to legalize sex with children, and were trying to move children from Ukraine to their sex markets in Latin America. So in four months, we go from Ukraine, blow through three continents, four countries, and completely dismantle this organization. The whole thing ends with us liberating a child sex hotel in a little village in Ecuador,” Ballard said.

As reflected in the movie, Katherine Ballard — Ballard’s wife of over 20 years — motivated him to pick up the fight against the deranged pedophiles.

“My wife at the time was running the Children Need Families adoption agency, and we had several children that were coming in from Ukraine, and she asked me to go find them. So, I partnered with my friends at Aerial Recovery, and we went in. We ended up rescuing 3,000 vulnerable people, but while we’re there, we put up the drag net for traffickers, knowing that it’s “harvest time,” Ballard said.

Ballard, who now leads the Tim Ballard Foundation, said his goal in making the film was to raise awareness about child sex trafficking and spark a national conversation on Capitol Hill about how federal policy can help combat the crisis.

“It’s a goal of many righteous members of Congress and administration members. They want us to do this, they’re grateful we’re doing this,” Ballard said. They are saying, ‘Give us the intel, because we’re having a hard time getting it, and move the hearts of the people.'”

When asked why he left DHS to continue fighting pedophiles outside the protection of the federal government, Ballard said he did so because it was the only way to make real, lasting change.

“I work for Jesus. There’s no red tape and no deep state. There’s no political pushback, and I can get valuable information that would otherwise be politically challenging for them [the government] to get,” Ballard said.

“The traffickers know no borders and boundaries, and we are very limited by jurisdictional mandates. The bureaucracy, and later on the deep state element, was very frustrating. There are many people in the deep state that do not want these things exposed because they’re very much a part of it. So that was a very big thing when I left in 2013,” Ballard added. “It would take five people to approve a mission, and by the time it gets approved, the child traffickers are gone.”

Ballard’s resignation evidently paid off. Since his departure from the government agency, Ballard has been able to rescue children in over 30 countries and provide assistance to governments in a public-private model.

“We’ve perfected the private-public model, which I think is the only way to beat a deep state. If you have a shadow government, which, by the way, is totally legal,” he said. We need non-profits that are open, and the government benefits from it. We just show up with valuable things that they can’t otherwise get because of deep state or red tape, and it’s all for free. We don’t charge the governments; we work under a non-profit.”

When asked if he would consider running for public office, Ballard said he would be open to the possibility. However, he believes he could do more independently than when tied to a government branch and a political party.

“Sure. I don’t think I can ever run for the legislative branch. I don’t think I’d be able to. I’d die,” Ballard said. “It’s the golden handcuffs. What exactly can I get done there? There’s few positions where I think I would be able to do more than what I am doing now.”

“My ideology is that of children, which means it’s nonexistent. Children don’t belong to a political party. Washington was right in his farewell address when he said that political parties could be the ruin of our nation. Even in the Republican Party, you can get blinded to the truth because you have to carry the party flag,” Ballard said.

“If you see the world through the eyes of children, you see the world through the eyes of Jesus. If the first and last question you ask yourself is how does this benefit a child, it is probably going to be the right policy for everyone.”
