It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and with the holiday season approaching, consumers were not reluctant to start spending over the Thanksgiving holiday — especially online.
Despite the doomsday economic projections of Democrats everywhere who predicted a holiday season and current national economy that would rival the plight of the Joads in The Grapes of Wrath, online consumer spending hit record highs. Data revealed that online purchases on Black Friday totaled $11.8 billion. Moreover, this massive number followed another record for online purchases for Thanksgiving, which surpassed $6 billion.
This was followed by Cyber Monday, in which U.S. consumers spent over $14 billion in online purchases, according to Reuters. After weeks of doom and gloom, left-wing projections of economic apocalypse, and predictions of impending fiscal calamities, Democrats were proven wrong — yet again — as consumer spending during the Thanksgiving holiday and Cyber Monday, traditionally recognized as the busiest shopping time of the year, reached $44.2 billion. This surpassed earlier spending projections of $43.7 billion.
Suffice it to say, consumers clearly are loving President Donald Trump’s economy!
Naysayers, especially those on the country’s political Left, will reject such a premise, but, as the saying goes, “Facts don’t care about one’s feelings.” The fact that spending surpassed projections, and e-commerce achieved record highs during what is known as the “busiest shopping day of the year,” reflects a significant sign of consumer faith in the economy. The reality is in stark contrast to what many congressional Democrats had been predicting for days, weeks, and months as they headed into the holiday season.
The billions of dollars spent online reflect a pivot from the spending days of old, when shoppers would wait outside or attend brick-and-mortar stores early in the morning on Black Friday (and for a brief, chaotic, and arguably self-indulgent time in our country’s history, on Thanksgiving Day). Furthermore, economic data showed that consumer online spending increased by 5.3% on Thanksgiving and Black Friday compared to the same holiday period in 2024, when former President Joe Biden was in office. All of this clearly shows that the U.S. consumer trusts the Trump economy, and the president has made holiday shopping great again.
This economic good news comes after the Democrats tried to sabotage the economy, Republicans, and the Trump administration by causing the longest government shutdown in the nation’s history. Their despicable actions led to the withholding of salaries and government benefits of millions. Who could ever forget the callous words of House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA), who, while acknowledging the suffering of U.S. citizens, inferred it was necessary collateral damage so the Democrats could obtain political “leverage.”
But left-wing exploits to sabotage Trump and the economy precede the government shutdown. Ever since Trump implemented his economic policies, Democrats have been flooding the political messaging of the country with ideas of how badly U.S. citizens were doing. They accused Trump of crashing the economy. Such narratives were introduced and then repeated for months by Democratic congressional leadership. They predicted multiple stock market crashes and jumped at the opportunity to predict impending doom every time the market took a dip.
BELTWAY CONFIDENTIAL: DOES MARK KELLY EVER STOP LYING ABOUT TRUMP?
However, in the end, Democrats were proven wrong, again.
It’s time to stop listening to liberals when it comes to economic messaging. They have proven to be unknowledgeable, incompetent, and incoherent on financial matters. Furthermore, they have demonstrated to be as reliable as the iceberg watcher on the Titanic when it comes to U.S. consumer confidence and spending projections.
