Hollywood drops immigration for the latest monthly outrage

Do you remember when Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and Border Patrol agents shot and killed two liberal activists in Minneapolis, and it was supposed to be the worst human rights abuse in American history?

Because celebrities and liberal media seemingly don’t remember. They allow themselves to be dragged from one insincere outrage cycle to the next by the Democratic Party, allowing themselves to be used as political tools with little self-respect.

2028 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY WILL BE A RECKONING ON BIDEN AND IMMIGRATION: BYRON YORK

The Oscars passed on Sunday with little fanfare, a predictable slog of actors cheering on Palestinian terrorists and “comedian” Jimmy Kimmel whining about his personal grievances. Immigration took a back seat, though, with far fewer celebrities displaying their anti-ICE sentiments for all to see.

It’s weird considering just how frantic the anti-ICE, anti-immigration rhetoric was not even two months ago. If you recall, our liberal friends compared ICE and Border Patrol to Nazi shock troops and claimed they were executing American patriots in the streets of Minneapolis after the shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Were that true, you would think it would be the single-most important issue we would be talking about every single day, including on a (dwindling) national stage at the Oscars.

But no, it has been replaced by war with Iran and the persistent whining about Israel that infects Hollywood today. Listen to liberal rhetoric from January, and President Donald Trump is supposedly having federal agents execute liberals in the streets. And yet it is now nothing more than background noise designed to justify Democrats withholding funds from the Department of Homeland Security in a pedestrian funding battle in Congress.

That is how you know that the killings of Pretti and Good were not the egregious crimes that liberals claimed at the time. Their outrage was insincere, something they used to try to delegitimize immigration enforcement and attack Trump. They have since moved on to the latest outrage du jour, with Good and Pretti forgotten and Minneapolis a distant memory.

WHERE THINGS STAND WITH IRAN WAR IN ITS THIRD WEEK

Do these celebrities and other perpetually outraged liberals have any self-respect? Are they really so indifferent to being manipulated by Democratic politicians to jump into outrage cycles month after month, like tools in a toolbox just waiting to be used? Perhaps they are, especially when it comes to actors in Hollywood, who became millionaires by repeating the words other people wrote for them in a script. It’s almost a little too on the nose.

You should be embarrassed if you fall for these outrage cycles, allowing your emotions to hinge on the extreme rhetoric of Democratic politicians and dedicating each month of your life to some different thing that is the worst thing to ever happen until the next thing. This is why people mock airhead celebrities for offering their political opinions, because we all know they don’t genuinely believe what they are so passionate about, as evidenced by how quickly they pick up or discard causes based on what is in the news on a given day.
