Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Steven Chu has denied, throughout his testimony, that political influence factored into the Solyndra loan. He didn’t have much of an answer when asked about the emails indicating that the DOE requested Solyndra to delay making any layoffs until Nov. 3d, 2010 — the day after the 2010 midterms.
“I just learned about [those emails],” Chu told Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas. “No, I don’t think it’s a proper way to do business,” Chu said to Rep. John Sullivan, R-Okla., who aksed a follow-up question about the emails.
