Why didn’t ABC’s Rachel Scott ask Biden about his record high gas prices?

President Donald Trump drew the ire of liberal Democrats everywhere last week when he criticized a “stupid question” by ABC News’s Rachel Scott about the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. She posed the question to the president after an impromptu press conference on the location of the reflecting pool renovations after Trump’s presidential motorcade arrived, after driving over the surface of the drained reflecting pool.

Scott’s question focused on Trump’s decisions. Notably, similar questions by Scott do not appear to have been raised during former President Joe Biden’s term, during which gas prices reached record highs on June 14, 2022. Scott’s question was not sincere. It was agenda-driven, aiming to shame Trump. It’s reflective of the bias in the media and the duplicitous ways in which left-wing journalists advance their political agendas while appearing to merely ask questions.

“Mr. President, you are here against the backdrop of the war in Iran. Why focus on all these projects right now, when we’re seeing gas prices soar?”

Among other things, including citing a desire to keep the country beautiful, Trump called Scott’s question “stupid” and said it was a “disgrace to the country.”

The president’s comment drew outrage from those on the Left, and some sensitive ears on the Right, as many clutched pearls over Trump’s aggressive response. However, the president was right insofar as calling Scott’s question stupid. It was. Moreover, it was a biased inquiry by a so-called journalist meant to embarrass Trump, not ask him a legitimate question. The war in Iran and high gas prices have no correlation whatsoever to renovations at the reflecting. One would think Scott presumably knows this.

Moreover, what does Scott expect Trump to be doing instead? Should he put on a military uniform and lead a charge of a naval brigade in the Strait of Hormuz? Strap on a helmet like Captain America and lead American forces in Tehran? Put on a hard hat and have Marine One transport him to an oil rig to drill?

Her question was arguably provocative, and Trump’s retort was justified and reflected his willingness to respond directly to press inquiries that he finds biased, unfair, and objectionable. It’s a pushback that is sorely needed. Prior to Trump, similar media exchanges often went unchallenged by Republican figures. As noted earlier, Scott did not address comparable questions to Biden during periods of high gas prices, while Biden pursued a range of presidential projects.

ZIA FARUQUI’S APOLOGY AN EXAMPLE OF ‘MALIGNANT EMPATHY’ OF RADICAL LEFT IN JUSTICE SYSTEM

Freedom of the press is a constitutional right in this country, but it is one that is abused by left-wing media. If a journalist wants to ask the president about high gas prices while in office, then that journalist should do so regardless of the political party of that president. Unfortunately, today, many journalists, especially news reporters, show more allegiance to the “- D” that appears after a politician’s name than to their job responsibility of factually reporting news. As mentioned above, they don’t seek legitimate new coverage to provide answers to the public. They seek to persuade the country’s citizens not to inform them. Questions such as Scott’s are why Trump coined the term “fake news.”

Scott’s question was left-wing activism masquerading as a media question. That, and only that, is what should have been reported in the news. Unfortunately, left-wing activism in journalism has become so commonplace in the U.S., and so unchecked by Republicans, that when questions such as Scott’s are asked, or not asked to Democratic presidents and politicians as the case may be, no one thinks to demand accountability from the media person. They instantly flock to criticize Trump. Those days must end immediately.
