Mitt Romney already won Iowa last week. He is poised to win New Hampshire tomorrow. He is ahead in South Carolina, which votes on the 21st. And now the first post-Iowa poll in Florida shows Romney has a commanding lead there as well.
A Quinnipiac University survey of self-described likely Florida voters found that Romney leads Newt Gingrich 36% to 24%, followed by Rick Santorum with 16% and Ron Paul with 10%. But, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute Peter Brown points out, many Republican Floridians remain undecided: “With more than half of voters saying they might change their minds and more than 50 percent of them backing candidates perceived as more conservative, Romney could be vulnerable if those voters settle on one candidate.”
The poll was conducted January 4th through the 8th, surveyed 560 self-identified likely Republican primary voters, and has a margin of error +/- 4.1 percent.
