Liberal analyst agrees: Black voters will help Hillary beat Bernie

I have been impressed by the clearsighted analysis of Slate’s liberal writer Jamelle Bouie. The latest example is this piece, in which he argues that black voters will be Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s backstop in her race against Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Bouie’s explanation how the Clintons have interacted with black voters over the years is well supported and convincing.

One reason I’m impressed wiuth Bouie is that I made a similar point in a blogpost earlier this week. I emphasized another factor that Bouie doesn’t make much of, which is that black voters tend to come down near-unanimously on the side of one candidate over another, even another with good credentials, in primaries as well as general election.
