Poll finds surprisingly high support for Obama Nobel

A new Quinnipiac poll finds that “only 26 percent” of voters surveyed believe President Obama deserves his Nobel Prize. (“Only?”)

That number is bolstered by strong belief (73 percent) among black voters that he deserves it. Hispanic (29 percent) and white voters (18 percent) are more skeptical.

Peter Brown, assistant polling director at Quinnipiac, offers this analysis:

“It’s probably a good thing for President Obama that the time difference from Norway means the Nobel presentation will occur while most Americans are sleeping and might get less coverage in the United States.”
