Christian right activist Gary Bauer spoke at the “Patriots for Romney” event, a rally headlined by Rick Santorum just outside the Republican convention in Tampa Wednesday afternoon. He used the occasion to slam the White House’s economic and foreign policies:
We want to come back to a time when you made a dollar, the dollar belonged to you and not the federal government. When you started a business, everybody knew the business was started by you and not by a bureaucrat. We want to come back to a time when we got a foreign policy, ladies and gentleman, that promotes American values, that promotes American security instead of the foreign policy we have now, which seeks to be most effective when it is promoting the Muslim Brotherhood. We want America again. We want to come back to America.
He then accused the administration of having “the most anti-Israel president in the history of the United States, shaming the Oval Office.”
Bauer is the president of the group American Values and a former president of the Family Research Council, as well as a 2000 Republican presidential candidate.
