More than half of California is undergoing “exceptional” drought conditions, and you can watch it unfold in the video above.
The drought has sparked headlines for reasons like a ferry striking a sandbar in Lake Tahoe, a San Francisco Bay area water district considering hiring “water cops” and Central Valley farmers losing access to irrigation water.
President Obama has previously attempted to link the drought to climate change. He visited Fresno, Calif., in February as part of an effort to push politicians to do more to combat climate change.
The Associated Press recently declared the prospects of a drought bill passing “as likely as the state being deluged by three straight days of rain.”
