President Obama drew strong criticism when he told ABC that “all the choices we’ve made have been the right ones,” but presented a more modest — and far more appealing — demeanor to a crowd of supporters at a campaign event in Hawaii today.
“And I’ll remind you of something else that I said back then,” Obama told the audience. “I said, I am not a perfect man and I will not be a perfect President. Michelle can testify to that,” he joked.
Obama maintained throughout the speech, however, that his first term has brought “change that you can believe in” to the country, and he cited a number of bills — especially Obamacare — as examples of that change.
