Report: Obama did not discuss Rand Paul filibuster at dinner with GOP senators

President Obama and the Republican senators he hosted for dinner tonight reportedly did not discuss the ongoing filibuster led by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., although two of the attendees participated in the filibuster earlier today.

“I am told the Obama-GOP senators dinner did not include any discussion of @SenRandPaul filibuster or drone policy,” NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell tweeted.

Two of the twelve senators at the dinner — Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., — aided Paul in the filibuster by asking “questions” that allowed him to take a rest from speaking.

“The President greatly enjoyed the dinner and had a good exchange of ideas with the Senators,” the White House pool report quotes a senior administration official as saying.

Here’s the list of attendees:

Senator Lindsey Graham

Senator Bob Corker

Senator Kelly Ayotte

Senator John McCain

Senator Dan Coats

Senator Tom Coburn

Senator Richard Burr

Senator Mike Johanns

Senator Pat Toomey

Senator Ron Johnson

Senator John Hoeven

Senator Saxby Chambliss
