Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson raised some eyebrows in CPAC this morning and earned cheers from many of the young Libertarian minded attendees for endorsing marijuana legalization as part of his conservative agenda.
“It’s time to take a hard look at the war on Drugs and look at marijuana legalization.” Johnson said, noting that over half of the prison population was there due to drug related crimes. “90% of the drug problem is prohibition…its time to legalize marijuana, control it, regulate it and tax it.”
