MoveOn from ‘Yes We Can!’

MoveOn.org begs me to rekindle the “yes we can” spirit at a party this weekend.

It’s time to recapture the “Yes We Can!” spirit that helped elect Barack Obama in 2008 to stop the takeover of Congress this year. So we’re getting together on Saturday in Washington to call other MoveOn members near the most important races in the country, and sign them up to help get out the vote for endangered Democratic candidates. Together, we can stop the takeover!

But the “yes, we can” spirit doesn’t work its magic if George W. Bush isn’t president. And it’s kind of an empty thrill if voters are most upset about your two biggest congressional achievements (stimulus, Obamacare).
