Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., washed his hands yesterday of the August deadline that everyone has been talking about for passing a health care reform bill. In fact, he even blamed the media for creating it.
“You folks have created a deadline, we haven’t, Reid said.
So who set the deadline? President Obama did, of course.
“This window between now and the August recess, I think, is going to be the make-or-break period,” Obama said two months ago, on June 2. “This is the time where we’ve got to get this done.”
