Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., will resign on Tuesday, she has told Democratic leadership in the House, in order to take the reins at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
Harman ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1998. In 2000, she returned to her old seat in Congress at the behest of the party and rose to the top position on the House Intelligence Committee.
