WHO: Democrat Martha Coakley, who’s running for Senate in Massachusetts.
WHAT: During a televised debate, Ms. Coakley justified her desire to pull troops out of Afghanistan by saying, “If we went in because we decided the Taliban was giving harbor to terrorists, we supported that, I supported that. They’re gone.”
WHY IT’S DIM: The seven CIA officers recently killed in an al Qaeda terror attack in Afghanistan might beg to differ with Coakley’s assessment that there are no terrorists there.
CURE: Massachusetts voters should let Coakley know there is no place in the Senate for people whose defeatism outstrips their knowledge.
