Whew! Kentucky Democratic Senate primary still tight, with Conway now 45%-42%, by less than 16,000 votes. If you click on the tab that shows “county reporting,” you’ll notice that most of those that have reported no returns are in Mongiardo country. However, it also looks like people on both sides may be holding off from reporting until they learn “how many votes do you need?” That’s true in heavily pro-Conway Jefferson County (Louisville) and in Kentucky’s easternmost Pike County, coal country that’s pro-Mongiardo, as is hugely Democratic Breathitt County also in the eastern mountains.
