Will Dem establishment figures squash the liberals?

With 75 percent of the vote in, Attorney General Jack Conway leads the Democratic Senate primary in Kentucky, 46 to 41 percent. The margin has been closing gradually.

There are several possible narratives for tomorrow, but here’s one that I would find most amusing: Specter, Lincoln and Conway all win, proving that Democrats will vote for their party bosses’ candidate and have no will to clean house.

Republicans, meanwhile, nominate iconoclasts like Rand Paul and Pat Toomey. Such a result, I believe, would say quite a bit about what to expect in November.
