Report: Sen. Rand Paul detained by the TSA

“I spoke with him five minutes ago and he was being detained indefinitely,” Paul spokesperson Moira Bagley told Politico. “The image scan went off, he refused patdown.”

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., son of Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, has been detained by the TSA according to reports.

“Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He’s currently being detained by TSA in Nashville,” tweeted Sen. Rand Paul’s press secretary Moira Bagley.

Sen. Paul was traveling to the March for Life in Washington D.C. to speak to pro-life activists. “Today I’ll speak to the March for Life in DC. A nation cannot long endure w/o respect for the right to Life. Our Liberty depends on it,” was the last message from Rand Paul’s Twitter account.

Congressman Ron Paul has confirmed the news, posting on his Facebook page, “My son Rand is currently being detained by the TSA at the Nashville Airport, I’ll share more details as the situation unfolds.”
