Mother’s Day is supposed to be a unifying, calm celebration of one part of that secular trinity — mom, baseball, and apple pie — that makes America great. Unfortunately, this year’s celebration of Mother’s Day is perceived as divisive to certain corporations, which have been motivated by extreme woke ideologies to reject the entire idea of
motherhood
. Sadly, political divisions have become so great that people cannot even
agree on mom
anymore.

The nation’s hottest political battle is now over the very idea that women exist. Ideological efforts to disembody the biological reality of sex — to introduce “gender” as an abstract concept that exists outside the laws of science — has led both leftists and
those cowardly souls who live in fear of their disapprobation
to use such silly terms as “birthing person,” which degrade and demean women in general and mothers in particular.

Hopefully, the tide is beginning to turn against such nonsense. But in the meantime, there is still Mother’s Day to commemorate what, for most people, celebrates the person who made the most important contribution to their upbringing.

It is unfashionable nowadays to expound upon the nurturing and care that all good mothers show their offspring. Liberals instead expect everyone to feign ignorance and pretend that both sexes are interchangeable. They do this even though 99% of all human culture and literature, from the dawn of time, celebrates those sex differences and expounds upon them, from long before the oral tradition of Homeric epic poetry right up to the latest romantic comedy available on Amazon Prime Video.

These same people nowadays openly attack motherhood with their demand that both parents take a back seat and defer to agents of the state with respect to the values with which their children are to be raised.

Do not ever let such people near your children. And don’t let their strange beliefs prevent you from celebrating your mother’s love, showering her with affection, and showing the same amount or even more love toward your own children.

To most people who had healthy upbringings and good mothers, home is wherever their mother is or was. The feelings of safety and refuge and the good counsel that children receive in the home from good mothers stay with them for a lifetime.

In fact, for normal people, the very idea of motherhood is a peacemaking and calming one. Anytime you think of people you really detest, it could be the thought that each one of them has a mother that softens your attitude toward them.

If your mother is still alive, spend the day with her today. If that’s not possible, at least give her a call to tell her how much you appreciate everything she did for you. Whoever you are and whatever age you are, you only have so many Mother’s Days left to spend with her. Enjoy them while you can.
