Just days after rents hit record highs in Brooklyn and Manhattan, a masked woman stood beside New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and proclaimed, “We are living in an epic chapter of history” in which the city “is turning the corner on tenant power” and “the Mamdani administration is emboldening us so that we no longer tolerate the violence of evictions.”

Perhaps someday Mamdani and his socialist allies will realize that it is their policies, not capitalist greed, that are driving housing prices higher.
