Ukraine’s top security agency said on Tuesday that a former Soviet KGB agent accused of helping direct a Russian airstrike against a military training center in western Ukraine has been arrested.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, allegedly sent targeting information to Russia used in the missile attack on the Yavoriv military training center in March. The Russian agent allegedly used the Telegram messaging app to relay the information to Russian officials, according to the Security Service of Ukraine. The suspect, a Ukrainian native, is being held without bail and may be charged with treason, according to officials.
“As a result of rocket attacks on the Yavoriv training site, more than 50 servicemen were killed and almost 150 were injured,” the Security Service of Ukraine said on Telegram on Tuesday.

Initial figures released by Ukrainian officials after the attack pegged the death toll at the Yavoriv facility at 35.
The facility, located 15 miles from the Polish border, was hit by a predawn barrage of cruise missiles on March 13. U.S. and British advisers used the facility to train Ukrainian troops in the weeks leading up to Russia’s Feb. 24 invasion.

At the time of the attack, it was believed to be the westernmost strike on Ukrainian territory by Russian forces and the most lethal.
