Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dissolved the country’s war Cabinet — an emergency panel that had, up until this point, led the government’s management of its war in Gaza.
The prime minister “will hold smaller forums for sensitive matters,” Israeli officials told the Washington Post, and may continue to discuss general matters with the wider security Cabinet. These smaller meetings would likely include Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, National Security Council head Tzachi Hanegbi, and the chairman of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party, Aryeh Deri, as well as representatives of the military establishment.
