The North American Aerospace Defense Command tracked four Russian military aircraft operating in Alaska’s Air Defense Identification Zone last Monday.
An ADIZ is the airspace that surrounds a country’s sovereign airspace, so Alaska’s ADIZ borders the state’s sovereign airspace. The Russian aircraft operated within Alaska’s ADIZ but did not enter the United States or Canada’s sovereign airspace.
