Marco Rubio: Ground raids on Houthis not necessary following successful US airstrikes

Published March 16, 2025 9:46pm ET

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sunday that ground raids on the Houthis in Yemen are not a necessity as of now after U.S. airstrikes launched on the country’s capital city killed 30 of the terrorist group’s rebels.

Speaking on CBS News’s Face the Nation, Rubio said the U.S. military would make any decision on the use of ground raids but added that he’s “heard no talk” of the tactic and does not think there is a “necessity for it right now.”
