B-2 stealth bombers hit Iranian ballistic missile sites with 2,000-pound bombs: CENTCOM

B-2 stealth bombers struck Iranian ballistic missile facilities using 2,000-pound precision bombs, U.S. Central Command said Sunday.

The announcement marks the first confirmed use of the B-2 stealth bombers in the current round of U.S. military operations against Iran.

CENTCOM said the aircraft employed 2,000-pound bombs against Iran’s “hardened” missile facilities but provided few additional operational details.

“No nation should ever doubt America’s resolve,” CENTCOM said in the post.

The B-2 bomber, operated by the U.S. Air Force, is designed to penetrate heavily defended airspace and conduct long-range precision strikes. The same aircraft was used in June 2025 to strike Iranian nuclear sites.

Its deployment underscores the growing scale of U.S. involvement as the confrontation with Iran deepens.

The strikes come as U.S. and Israeli forces continue a broad military campaign against Iranian targets that began this weekend.

President Donald Trump said earlier Sunday that U.S. operations had sunk nine Iranian naval vessels, adding to the state of what has been dubbed “Operation Epic Fury.” Trump said that Iranian naval forces have been nearly depleted.

More than 1,000 Iranian targets have been struck by U.S. and Israeli forces since the start of the operation, according to reporting by the Wall Street Journal

Iran, meanwhile, said it had carried out more retaliatory attacks against American military bases located in the region than the United States and Israel had on it.
