Two U.S. Navy destroyers reportedly ran the gauntlet through the Strait of Hormuz, successfully making it to the Persian Gulf despite coming under heavy Iranian attack.

Though the attacks were described as intense and sustained, both destroyers made it through without incurring any damage. The two vessels were covered by Apache attack helicopters and other aircraft, which helped repel the attacks.
