The Department of War on Friday released a second round of declassified Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena files, including three newly published military videos and hundreds of pages of historical government documents detailing decades of unexplained sightings.

The release includes infrared footage allegedly captured by U.S. military platforms in the Middle East, Cold War-era investigation files involving mysterious “green orbs,” a CIA report describing a glowing object spotted in the Soviet Union in 1973, and audio files of astronaut accounts from the Apollo 12 mission.

Officials said the materials remain “unresolved cases,” meaning investigators could not determine the nature of the phenomena due to limited or inconclusive data. The Trump administration has framed the effort as part of a push for transparency surrounding government knowledge of UAPs, commonly referred to as UFOs.

“The Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said in a statement. “These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation — and it’s time the American people see it for themselves.”

Among the newly released materials are three videos uploaded to a classified network in 2024 and later reviewed by the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office.

One video, titled “4 UAP Formation Iran 26 Aug 2022 over water [CALLSIGN],” was assessed as likely originating from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform operating within U.S. Central Command in 2022.

Another, “Syrian UAP instant acceleration,” appears to show an unidentified object rapidly accelerating while under infrared tracking in 2021.

A third video, “UAP USO Formation CALLSIGN,” was also assessed as originating from a military infrared sensor platform.

The newly released documents also include 116 pages from the Armed Forces Special Weapons Program detailing 209 sightings of “green orbs,” “discs,” and “fireballs” near Sandia, New Mexico, between 1948 and 1950. Witnesses described objects maneuvering erratically, disappearing suddenly or exploding midair.

Another CIA intelligence report describes a source allegedly observing a silent bright green airborne object in the Soviet Union in 1973 that formed concentric circles before disappearing.

The archive additionally includes Apollo 12 medical debrief records in which astronauts Charles Conrad, Richard Gordon, and Alan Bean described seeing flashes and streaks of light while trying to sleep in space. NASA later determined the phenomena were likely caused by cosmic rays affecting the astronauts’ vision rather than external objects.
