President Obama this week is overseas for the NATO summit in Wales. He first stopped in Estonia to ease concerns over Russian forces moving in on Ukraine. Once at the summit with other world leaders, Obama reaffirmed his commitment to NATO.
In other news this week, Attorney General Eric Holder announced a federal civil rights investigation into the Ferguson, Mo., police department following the shooting death of Michael Brown, an unarmed teenager, by a Ferguson police officer.
Over in Virginia, former Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife Maureen heard the devastating results of their five-week-long corruption trial. The former governor was convicted on 11 counts of corruption charges, while his wife was convicted on eight corruption charges and one obstructing justice charge. Sentencing is set for Jan. 6.
