ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A proposal to raise Maryland’s minimum wage is going before a state Senate panel.
The Senate Finance Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on Thursday.
The measure would raise the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour by 2016. The bill also would index the minimum wage to keep up with inflation.
Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley is making the bill a priority this legislative session.
A House committee held a hearing on the measure earlier this week.
