The Senate has voted, along party lines, to table the Cut, Cap, and Balance debt ceiling legislation passed by the House. Is that the end of the story?

It needn’t be. The vote was 51-46. Couldn’t pressure be brought to bear on three Democratic senators to reverse themselves? More likely, couldn’t pressure be brought to bear on the Senate Democrats as a whole to permit votes on amendments to the bill, or to pass something of their own?
