It’s not the Justice League, but it’s as close as ed-heads get.
A new national consortium focused on the needs of large suburban school districts is drawing four of its 10 members from the Washington area. The Large Countywide and Suburban District Consortium has tapped the superintendents of Arlington, Fairfax, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties for its inaugural team.
A press release from Arlington County Public Schools says the network of leaders was established “to support strong, innovative, local-level action and to foster improvements in national, state and local policy and practice – all geared toward college and career-readiness, and citizenship goals.”
Chosen members have “a proven track record of success,” and possible efforts this supergroup may take on include “implementation of new college-and career-ready standards and strategies for benchmarking performance against the top-performing schools in other nations.”
