Pro-Palestinian protesters at the University of California, Los Angeles, fortified their encampment in preparation for a storming by a large force of police officers.
Just one day after the New York Police Department dramatically stormed a pro-Palestinian protester encampment at Columbia University, a similar scene is playing out at UCLA. On Wednesday evening, the UCLA Police Department, backed by the Los Angeles Police Department and other security forces, declared that the encampment was unlawful and must be dispersed. Protesters appear to have no intention of doing so, fortifying their encampment with wooden planks and bringing in hundreds more protesters as backup.
