A Rhode Island school district is being investigated by the Department of Justice for discrimination practices over a student loan forgiveness program that did not include white teachers.
The DOJ’s Civil Rights Office sent a letter on March 21 to Providence Public Schools and the Rhode Island Department of Education that it was investigating whether their employment practices classified as discrimination.
