U.Va. president to resign

The president of the University of Virginia agreed to step down from her post on Aug. 15 due a disagreement with the board about the school’s direction.

“The Board feels strongly and overwhelmingly that we need bold and proactive leadership on tackling the difficult issues that we face,” Rector Helen Dragas said in statement to college officials.
