A Nokesville man was arrested Friday evening for impersonating a fire marshal — and demanding a free soda, while he was at it.
NBC Washington reports that Orlando Matsumoto, 23, was arrested Friday night and is being held on a $3,000 bond. Last month, he entered a 7-11 store where he showed a badge and told the clerk he was a fire marshal. After demanding to use the employee-only restroom, he told the clerk to give him a free soda.
When Matsumoto tried the same maneuver a week later, the clerk told him again that there was no public restroom. Matsumoto told the clerk he was going to investigate and close the 7-11.
Mansassas City police officials did not immediately return calls seeking comment from The Washington Examiner Sunday evening.
In September 2010, Matsuomoto was arrested by Prince William County police for claiming to be a police officer. For each charge he faces a fine of up to $2,500 and a year in jail.
