VIDEO: Drilling moratorium reinstated in Pa. as natural gas debate fuels Congress

Newly-elected Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf has reinstated a drilling moratorium in parks and forests as the state searches for the best and safest way to drill for natural gas.

The move by Wolf, a Democrat, reverses the move by Gov. Tom Corbett, who Wolf handily defeated in November’s election. Wolf has said he supports hydraulic fracturing — known as fracking — but wants to do it in the safest way for the environment.

Wolf’s move on Thursday comes one day after the House of Representatives passed a bill that would speed up the export of natural gas, specifically liquefied natural gas. That bill, approved by the House, still needs to be adopted by the Senate.
