Fire breaks out in Hollywood Hills as California reels from destruction

A new fire broke out in Hollywood Hills, prompting an evacuation order for the historic Hollywood entertainment district.

The wildfires are already the most destructive fire in Los Angeles history, having killed at least five people and lit ablaze over 1,000 structures. Shortly after sundown, a blaze suddenly erupted in Runyon Canyon, roughly 1 mile from the famous Hollywood sign. By 6:30 p.m. local time, fire officials estimated that at least 20 acres of the Runyon Canyon area had been engulfed.
