About the worst thing that can happen to science is for politics to control it. And that seems to be happening in the field of climate science, with the political culprit being the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
One enterprising journalist investigating this sad affair is Donna Laframboise. After her definitive 2011 expose on the IPCC, aptly called “The Delinquent Teenager Who Was Mistaken for the World’s Top Climate Expert,” Laframboise has penned another gutsy critique, “Into the Dustbin: Rajendra Pachauri, the Climate Report and the Nobel Peace Prize.”
