Former Texas governor Rick Perry responded to news that the Obama administration is instituting new regulations on hydraulic fracturing.
“Federal energy regulations put forth by this administration are meant to appease the party’s liberal fringe rather than create opportunity for all Americans and strengthen our allies,” said Perry in a statement. “The most profound way to boost our country’s economy and enhance our national security is to aggressively market domestic energy around the globe.”
Perry is considered a potential Republican candidate for president in 2016.
Asked Friday by THE WEEKLY STANDARD about how these fracking regulations can help economic growth, White House senior advisor Brian Deese said the rules reflect a “responsible approach” to balancing growth and safety.
