September Supplemental Security Income payments, worth up to $967, will go out to recipients in 27 days.
While SSI payments typically go out at the start of every month, September’s payment goes out the last Friday before next month, on Aug. 29, since Sept. 1 is a holiday. If the first day of a month falls on a holiday or weekend, SSI payments will be issued the previous business day.
