Poll: Americans overwhelmingly oppose Iran deal

Despite President Obama’s continued push in favor of the Iran nuclear deal, a poll released by Gallup shows that Americans overwhelmingly oppose the deal.

The poll, released on Wednesday, finds that only 30 percent of Americans favor the deal designed to curb Iran’s nuclear efforts. Compare that to the 57 percent of respondents who oppose the deal.

Gallup also found that only nine percent of Republicans favor the deal, while 51 percent of Democrats are in support of the new measures.

Only 14 percent of Americans have a favorable view of the Middle Eastern country. That’s higher than Gallup’s 27-year trend of Iran, which shows 11 percent support among Americans.

The results of the poll were conducted from Feb. 3-7 and sampled 1,021 adults from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
