Secretary of State John Kerry says no matter how hard it gets, the United States will persevere in its mission to negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian forces.
Kerry was the opening speaker Monday morning at the Young African Leaders Summit in Washington, an event leading up to a gathering next week of African heads of state.
Recounting the work of one young leader in the crowd, Kerry said, “the biggest challenge is trying to get many factions to cooperate to reach the same aim.”
“It’s never easy,” Kerry said, “but that doesn’t mean you stop, and that doesn’t mean you turn away. You have to keep doing it.”
